There's a new ped and bike bridge under construction that will connect between Lyons Rd and Sellers St over Boggy Creek and fill a gap in the current Mokan Trail. One side of the new bridge and trail connection will be right next to the Bike Texas events space, while the other end will be next to Casa Marianella. This will provide a smooth route all the way to Cepeda Public Library and HEB on 7th St. It's really cool to see more of this separated ped and bike paths being connected up in the East side of Austin. I recently took a few minutes to view the construction site after our recent Sunday Cruise. It's really exciting to see it already coming along with the bridge footings being prepped. The new bridge will span the creek parallel to the existing rail bridge. 🚲🌉✨

After nearly a decade without a crossing, a new bridge now spans Country Club Creek between Krieg Fields and Roy G. Guerrero Park! While it’s not officially open yet, seeing it gracefully stretch across the creek is an exciting sign of progress.
This long-awaited connection will provide a direct route from Montopolis Bridge to Pleasant Valley, making travel smoother for cyclists and pedestrians. We are looking forward to many crossings in the near future. This will connect Montopolis Bridge to Pleasant Valley in a smooth direct route, and the new wishbone bridge and tunnel will allow access to the LBL trails. It’s all starting to come together! We’ll be crossing this bridge and enjoying a more connected trail system once again! 🚲🌉✨

This was a nice way to kick off this beautiful February morning! For several years Jordan and I have been riding our bikes down to the park and seeing the evolution of the reconstruction. This is the largest erosion control project in Austin’s history. We are so happy it's finally complete and already getting so much use from cyclists, joggers and pedestrians. I was hoping to also meet the female lead engineer who designed and worked on the project, not only did I get to meet her but I had a chance to invite her to an upcoming Bike Story Night to share more about the project and she happily agreed! ✨😍
This long-awaited connection will provide a direct route from Montopolis Bridge all the way to MOPAC making travel safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
Looking forward to the next ceremony tomorrow morning at the new new Wishbone bridge! Live music food trucks and we'll see what else. Stay tuned for a post on all the fun 🎉🎉🎉
